The Director

Liam Rudden - Director

The Director is Liam Rudden. Liam boasts a wide and varied career in the arts and media. He is currently Entertainment Editor at Scotsman Publications and Head Judge of Edinburgh's Got Talent.

As director, his credits include the sell out and award winning Silence In Court (emeraldBLUE), Cock And Bull Story (emeraldBLUE), Rocky Horror - the Remix (Claws Out Theatre Company), Hogmanay (Jagged Edge Theatre Company), Sequence of Events (Archangel Theatre), And They Sang Shang-a-Lang (Craft Theatre Company), May I Have The Bill Please? (LRStageworks), and, between 1993 and 2005, six productions of A Virgin's Guide to Rocky Horror.

A huge fan of traditional pantomime, Liam has written and directed the acclaimed pantomimes Dick McWhittington, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Sinbad And the Little Mermaid, Mother Goose and Aladdin - three of which broke box office records for the Brunton Theatre, Musselburgh.

In December 2012, Liam directed a self-penned new version of Cinderella for Dunfermline's Alhambra Theatre, and directed Taggart creator Glenn Chandler's Killers at Brighton Fringe in May 2013 and at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2013. Meanwhile his one man play, Thief (LRStageworks), won Best Theatre award at Brighton Fringe in May 2014, and in 2016 was winner of United Solo Best Emerging Actor Award for Stephen Humpage.

Liam had great success with And I Ran With the Gang: The Story of Alan Longmuir, the Original Bay City Roller. The show, written by Liam himself , included a Q&A with the Bay City Rollers' founder, Alan Longmuir.
