The Cast

This article relates to the following productions of Princess Pumpalot
2017 Edinburgh Fringe
Julie Heatherill

Julie Heatherill as Princess Pumpalot

In 2007 Julie graduated with a BA Acting degree from Glasgow’s Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD). After gaining a great deal of professional experience, she went back to pursue her other love in life: dancing. In 2010 she graduated once again, this time gaining her BTEC in Dance and an A in Higher Dance.

Julie recently performed in Starbird, a co-production between Mull Theatre and Toto Tales, a National Tour of Scotland, Highlands and the Islands.

Previous theatre credits include Carnegie (Ian Hammond Brown), Aladdin (Howden Park Theatre), The Little Mermaid (On in Fife), Cinderella (Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh), Silence in Court (Emerald Blue Productions, Edinburgh Fringe), Cross Currents (Telford Dance College, Edinburgh), Beneath You: Spider Girls are Everywhere (Birds of Paradise Theatre Company, National Tour), All’s Well that Ends Well (Arches Theatre, Glasgow/RSC Complete Works Festival).

TV credits include Nurse Maguire in River City (BBC), and 3 Minute Wonder (Channel 4 and Hopscotch Films).

Julie is delighted to be returning for a second year as Princess Pumpalot in Princess Pumpalot: The Quest for the Purple Super-Farting Bean.

David Mairs

David Mairs as Guffy

David Mairs is a professional actor, singer and musician. He is perhaps best known as a member of top One Direction tribute band - One and Only Direction.

He studied BA (Hons) degree in Musical Theatre from New College Lanarkshire, affiliated with Northumbria University.

From a very early age David started singing with the Glasgow Youth Choir. Since then, he's appeared in a number of productions including Broadway in the Bar (Inside Out Productions/Arta Glasgow), Songs for a New World (Gillian McLaren Scott/SWG3), Grease (Alan Currie/Hamilton Town House), Sleeping Beauty (Richard Gray/Hamilton Town House, Rutherglen Town Hall), Downs With Love (Cutting Edge Theatre) and Prince Niceavia in the 2015 production of Princess Pumpalot: The Farting Princess (Cadies Productions/LRStageworks). In 2017, hired as a singer, David will set sail on a European cruise organised by Luna Rossa Productions.

David moved to New York City in the summer of 2014 to attend an international intensive study program at Steps on Broadway where he managed to hone his dancing skills.

David is delighted to be returning to Wiffyville for a second year as Guffy in Princess Pumpalot: The Quest for the Purple Super-Farting Bean.

Robin Mitchell

Robin Mitchell as Cookie Crumble

When the actor originally cast for the role of Cookie Crumble fell ill with just days to go before the 2016 show opened, the Princess's creator (and show producer) Robin Mitchell gamely stepped in. He already knew the script quite well (as he wrote it) and is no stranger to public performance, so he was a natural fit! Robin so enjoyed appearing in the 2016 show he's back at the 2017 Edinburgh Festival Fringe as Cookie Crumble in Princess Pumpalot: The Quest for the Purple Super-Farting Bean.
